Grew up on the southern Oregon coast, first in the tiny town of Coquille, then moved with the parents to Coos Bay around age 15. Hated both towns passionately and was desperate to move out for over twenty years. Finally had barely enough money saved up to move to Tucson, Arizona, at the beginning of February. Was adopted shortly afterward by two pigeons who decided his apartment is also theirs, and promptly laid eggs under a shelf beside the desk.
First began sending short stories to magazines at age 17, and ended up with enough rejection letters to wallpaper an apartment, but never had a story accepted. Wrote first novel in 2002, and a second not long after. Spent the next few years trying to get them published, without success, and finally uploaded them to Amazon's Kindle Direct platform and Smashwords.
Third novel, Chaser, began as a short story in 2006. After sending it to numerous magazines and websites with no success, the story was expanded into a full novel a few years later. The novel was accepted by Keith Publications and was released as an ebook on Amazon.
Began writing and posting fanfiction in 2011, both just for the hell of it and to get more writing samples in front of readers.
